他自是才華超群，冠絕當代。
州郡的屬官暫且容他涵養文采如豹，
皇帝的詔令催他前去踏上金鼇（指科舉登第）。
聯袂芬芳，您也是花封（指縣令）中最出色者；
雙峰並峙，人們推許您如玉筍般高潔。
眼看就要被提拔到霄漢之上執掌權衡，
難道會沒有眾人交口議論那啼號之聲（指民間疾苦）？

He, with his talent, stands as the age's pride.
A clerk in the state, he nurtures a leopard's grace;
Imperial summons urges him to mount the golden tide.
In fragrant bloom, you too are the finest of the flowered seal;
Twin peaks, men praise you as jade bamboo, lofty and real.
Soon you'll be weighed in the celestial scale on high,
Will there be no shared voice that speaks of a weeping cry?
