灑下的溼潤仿佛驚醒了將熄的柴火，帶來涼意；
驟然降臨的寒冷並不寬恕我厚重的布被。
有人寄來吟詠喜雨的清新詩句；
一個笑容便令人病容消散，煥發神采。

This old man's hopes for harvest surpass the farmer's own.
Others survive on half-beans, day by day clinging on;
I too, for years, have lacked a pot of grain to call my own.
The sprinkling rain surprises, like quenching embers cold;
Sudden chill spares not the weight of my worn quilt, threadbare and old.
Your fresh verses on the welcome rain now come to me;
A single smile washes my ailing countenance clean, setting my spirit free.
