蘆葦的聲響從遙遠的渡口飄蕩而來。
月光下風起吹動水波，
浩渺的水面泛起白色龍鱗般的光彩。
幽暗的光影凝結在草木之上，
盛夏的暑氣森然瀰漫，彷彿侵逼著星辰。
天地間的塵埃尚未落定，
而江湖的浩氣暫且得以舒展伸張。
人生能有多少個這樣的夜晚？
在這亂世之中，偶然託身於此。
為何不稍作歡樂呢？
何況人的行跡本就容易湮沒無聞。
夜半三更，彷彿有大魚在水中舞動，
那靜寂的悲涼驚動了我的內心。
我永遠懷念那騎鯨的豪士，
他的興致勃發在煙水迷濛的新境之中。

Alone I stand in the night's intricate gloom,
The rustle of reeds drifts from a distant shore.
The moonlit wind stirs waves upon the gloom,
Vast and shimmering like white dragon scales they pour.
A shadowy hue congeals on grass and tree,
The summer's heat looms thick where stars should be.
The dust of heaven and earth is not yet cleared,
Yet the spirit of rivers and lakes finds a space to be heard.
How many evenings like this does a man's life hold?
In this chaotic age, by chance, this body I enfold.
Why not seek a little joy, why let it slip away?
Especially when traces of our deeds so quickly decay.
At the third watch, great fish dance in the deep,
A silent sorrow startles the soul from its sleep.
Forever I cherish the rider of the whale,
Whose inspiration rises where mists and waters prevail.
