一年的時序將盡，天地間已轉溫暖；
兩州的氣候在此地橫向分隔開來。
我已吟誦過杜甫描寫湖南的詩句，
更打算效仿蘇東坡寫嶺外風光的文章。
隔著溪水，成叢的梅花讓人疑是積雪；
靠近人前，孤聳的山峯仿佛要生出雲霧。
不愁歸去的路途有三千里之遙，
且讓我在林中稍作停留，觀賞這落日餘暉。

The year's cycle nears its end, heaven and earth grow warm;
Here the climates of two provinces are split apart.
Having chanted Du Fu's lines on Hunan's southern shore,
I now aspire to write like Su Shi beyond the ridge.
Across the water, clustered plums seem patches of snow;
Close by, a lone peak threatens to give birth to clouds.
I do not fret about the journey of three thousand li—
Let me linger awhile in the woods to watch the dusk.
