壯年時便考中進士，名登金榜，
仕途順利，直上青雲，馬玉珂鳴響。
他像子真一樣遠舉，隱居如神仙，
又如玄晏閒居，著述豐富繁多。
如今高齋空掩，只藏著散亂的文稿，
終究沒有良藥能治癒他沉重的疾病。
幾位兒子消瘦哀傷，悲痛深切，
爲告慰門人，他們廢止了吟誦《蓼莪》的哀歌。

Riding high toward the azure clouds, his career advanced swiftly.
Like Master Zhen, he retreated far, a hermit among immortals,
Like Xuan Yan at leisure, his literary creations were many.
Now his study stands empty, hiding scattered drafts in vain,
No good medicine could ever cure his deep and lasting illness.
His sons, gaunt with grief, bear sorrow's sharp and piercing pain,
For their master's disciples, they mourn, setting aside the lament's verses.
