我隱居在幽深偏僻的山中，自在安閒，
像留有頭髮的僧人，卻無世俗的塵埃沾染。
讀完了殘破的佛經，全然忘卻了塵世；
看夠了盛開的梅花，不再渴求春天的到來。
樹木間雛鳥的鳴叫聲多麼悅耳動聽，
漫漫長路上，新添白髮的行人步履不停。
我的雙腳與先生們的事務有何相干？
閒來倚著枯藤，打個哈欠，伸個懶腰。

Secluded in the mountain, I live free and at ease,
Like a monk with hair, yet from worldly dust released.
Reading worn palm leaves, I forget the world's affairs;
Having gazed my fill on plum blooms, I need no spring's cares.
How sweet the chirping of fledglings among the trees!
How endless the road for those with new frost on their hair!
What have my feet to do with the affairs of the wise?
Leaning on my old cane, I idly stretch and sigh.
