亭以醒心名,心與亭何與。

推類盡其餘,庶表名亭義。
我昨發莆陽,春光正明媚。
肩輿撼頓間,思慮雜勞勩。
行行復行行,至此若沾醉。
振衣躡斯亭,四顧足清致。
芳樹布繁陰,晴山薦空翠。
時有幽禽來,且無俗駕至。
物我方兩忘,情景亦相會。
天君始泰然,萬境絕纖翳。
後樂與先憂,虛靈良不昧。
揭扁端在茲,夫豈無所試。
尚期知我者,他時來作記。

萬物各有其感通共鳴之處;這個道理貴在深刻領悟。
峴山矗立著豐碑,見到它的人都會落淚。
以此類推,窮盡其理,或許就能表明爲亭子命名的深意。
我昨日從莆陽出發,當時春光正明媚燦爛。
在顛簸的轎子裡,我的思緒混雜著勞苦與疲倦。
走了一程又一程,來到這裡仿佛微醺。
我抖擻衣衫登上此亭,環顧四周,滿目清幽景致。
芬芳的樹木投下濃密綠蔭,晴空下的山巒呈現一片空靈的翠色。
時常有幽靜的鳥兒飛來,而且沒有世俗的車馬到來。
物與我兩者皆被忘卻,情景也相互交融。
內心之主開始變得安然,萬千景象毫無纖塵遮蔽。
後天下之樂而樂與先天下之憂而憂——虛靜靈明的心性確實不曾昏昧。
在此揭示匾額題字,豈能是沒有原由的嘗試?
我仍期望理解我的人,他日能來爲此作一篇記。
The pavilion is named 'Heart-Awakening', but what has the heart to do with the pavilion?
All things have their sympathetic resonance; this principle is best understood deeply.
Mount Xian stands with its grand stele; all who see it shed tears.
Extend this analogy to its fullest, and perhaps the pavilion's naming meaning is revealed.
I set out from Puyang yesterday, when spring's light was truly radiant.
Jostled within the sedan chair, my thoughts were mixed with toil and weariness.
On and on I journeyed, arriving here as if lightly intoxicated.
I shake my robes and ascend this pavilion, gazing all around at the pure scene.
Fragrant trees spread dense shade; the sunlit hills offer an empty emerald hue.
At times, quiet birds come, and there are no vulgar carriages arriving.
The object and myself are both forgotten; scene and feeling also meet.
The sovereign of the heart begins to be serene; all realms are free from the slightest haze.
The joy after and the worry before—the void spirit is truly not obscured.
To unveil the plaque is right here; how could it be without purpose?
I still hope that those who understand me will come another time to compose a record.
