清晨信馬由繮，走出東郊，
牆角邊，青梅已綻放了兩三枝。
竹雞剛停止啼叫，急雨便驟然來襲，
杜鵑的鳴聲已乾澀，月亮也遲遲未落。
山野的旅店在煮繭繅絲的日光下升起炊煙，
田野里，人們正鋤水、插秧，忙於農時。
勸勉農桑、督促課稅，我並非沒有盡力，
只爲稟報新安太守，讓他知曉民情。

At dawn I ride out east of town, letting my horse's hooves roam free,
By the wall's corner, two or three branches of green plums are seen.
Bamboo partridges cease their cry as rain comes rushing in a spree,
The cuckoo's voice turns dry, the moon descends lingeringly.
At mountain inns, smoke curls from silk-reeling pots under the sun's gleam,
In wild fields, they hoe the flooded soil and transplant rice seedlings, it seems.
To urge on farming and sericulture, efforts are not in vain, I deem,
This is to let the Governor of Xin'an know of this rural scene.
