生機黯淡，菜苗都不青翠。
猛烈啊，那三足金烏（太陽）！
籠罩著這（像）五鼎美食（的菜畦），酷熱難當。
呼喚童僕汲取深處清澈的井水，
且不要荒廢了我栽種的菊花。
一片雲彩似有心意，
停下蔭影，化作一座花屋。

At dawn I stroll through vegetable plots, a sorry sight;
No vibrant green, the seedlings languish, robbed of light.
How fierce the three-legged crow, the sun's relentless blaze,
That smothers these five tripods' feast in scorching haze!
Call the lad to draw deep, cool water from the well,
And do not let my chrysanthemums waste and fell.
A single cloud, with mindful grace, drifts overhead,
And stops to cast a flowering cottage of its shade.
