（善卷）耕垦荒野开凿平原之时，
他的高尚志趣在于清静无为。
大舜想将天下让给他，
先生只是空自皱起眉头（而不接受）。
五溪的清澈也不足以相比，
千古传颂的美德毫无亏缺。
纵使让那些丧失了淳朴本性的人来，
又能向谁寄托他们的思慕呢？

Tilling wilds, digging plains, in times of yore,
His lofty taste lay in simplicity's core.
Great Shun wished to cede the throne his hand held,
The master merely frowned, his virtue compelled.
Five streams' clarity cannot his purity match,
A beauty flawless through ages, none can attach.
Even if those who lost simplicity were sent,
To whom could they turn, with such intent?
