颜回惟乐道，原宪岂伤贫？
藉草邀新友，班荆接故人。
市门逢卖药，山圃值肩薪。

汉朝征召隐士，唐朝寻访逸人。
我却说要回到北山的幽深处，更愿闲坐在东河的水滨。
在这三晋之地的故乡，与四五户人家烟火为邻。
用白猪祭祀乡里的社神，用青羊祭拜家宅的守护神。
开辟菜畦直到院角，拦蓄水流到沟渠边。
像卧病的刘桢一样闲居，像亲自耕种的郑朴一样生活。
横着截取桑枝做手杖，竖着剪裁竹皮做头巾。
鹤在琴亭边警夜，莺在酒瓮旁啼春。
颜回只乐于求道，原宪怎幺会为贫穷伤心？
垫着草席邀请新朋友，铺开荆条接待老朋友。
在市门遇到卖药人，在山园碰见扛柴人。
彼此相伴共度这无事的日子，哪里会去沾染喧闹的尘世！

Yet I speak of the North Mountain's bend, and sit again by the Eastern River's bank.
Among hometown elms in the land of Three Jin, smoke from hearths of four neighboring homes.
A white pig offered at the village shrine, a black sheep sacrificed to the household god.
Expanding plots encroach on the courtyard corner, damming water up to the channel's edge.
Lying ill like Liu Gonggan, tilling the soil like Zheng Zizhen.
Crosswise I cut a mulberry-node staff, lengthwise I trim a bamboo-bark towel.
Cranes startle by the zither pavilion at night, orioles sing by the wine jar in spring.
Like Yan Hui who found joy in the Way, like Yuan Xian—why grieve over poverty?
Sitting on grass, I invite new friends; spreading thorns, I greet old companions.
At the market gate, I meet herb sellers; in the mountain garden, I encounter wood bearers.
Together we share a life free of affairs—where could we encounter the dusty clamor!
