If a person labors the body,
A hundred illnesses cannot form.
Drinking wine, avoid great drunkenness,
All diseases then will not arise.
After eating, walk a hundred steps,
Often rub the belly with hand.
Sleep not troubled by a high pillow,
Spit and snivel not far away.
On Yin and Chou days, trim nails,
Haircut must be done a hundred times.
When full, stand to urinate,
When hungry, sit to pass water.
Walking or sitting, face not the wind,
Dwelling place, leave no small crack.
Facing north to relieve oneself,
A lifetime of dim confusion.
Sun and moon are to be avoided,
Water and fire still to be feared and shunned.
Each night wash feet before sleep,
Eating to fullness brings no benefit.
Enduring insult is the superior vehicle,
Slander severs kin and relatives.
Worry and thought most injure the spirit,
Joy and anger harm harmonious breath.
Each time remove hair from the nose,
Constantly practice not spitting on ground.
At dawn when about to rise,
Leave bed with left foot first.
One day avoids disaster and blame,
Expels evil and wards off malignance.
If only one can walk the Seven Stars步,
It makes people long-lived and happy.
Sour flavor injures the sinews,
Pungent flavor damages right qi.
Bitter then damages the heart,
Sweet then injures one's will.
Too much salty hastens human lifespan,
Must not be biased and addicted.
Spring and summer let it flow freely,
Autumn and winter secure yang affairs.
Sleeping alone is guarding the true,
Caution and stillness are most precious.
Wealth and silk are allotted in life,
Knowing this is to regard as profit.
Forcing knowledge is a great calamity,
Few desires end with no burden.
Spirit and qi naturally remain,
Learning the Way must be from start to end.
Write it on the wall and door,
To use it to transmit to gentlemen.
