本是（君王）荒淫过多，
才会梦到巫山神女。
自古以来圣明的君主，
哪会听信妖魅的言语。
如今山峰上的云雾，
只是徒然地舒卷徘徊。

In past times there was cloud and rain,
In present times there is also cloud and rain.
It's only because of excessive wantonness,
That one dreams of attaining the Witch Mountain maiden.
Since ancient times, a sage and bright ruler
Would never listen to words of demons and enchantresses.
Nowadays, the clouds upon the peaks
Vainly billow in leisurely repose.
