春日的池塘如一面明镜。
冰多在被人踩踏处变薄，
偏偏在取饮时显得清冽。
它的光泽比雪仍在，
却因风吹无法成片。
更能随舟船远去，
仍可辅助人的坚贞品性。

Morning sun on the remaining ice,
The spring pond a mirror, bright and clear.
Most thin where trodden by footsteps,
Especially clear when one drinks from it.
Its light, compared to snow, still persists,
But, stirred by wind, it forms no flakes.
Further, going along with boats and oars,
It still can aid steadfastness and purity.
