我白发苍苍来到这江畔国度，
不惜重金买下这耐寒的品格。
刚刚移栽损伤了带白粉的竹节，
终究会盘绕着朱红的栏杆生长。
待到它们获得春天的力量，
就能看到新抽出的美丽笋壳了。

By the old stream, thousands upon thousands of stems,
In wind and rain, rustling through the night.
White-haired, I came to this river country,
Spent gold to buy this enduring cold.
Newly transplanted, their powdery joints are hurt,
But in the end, they'll twine around the vermilion railings.

We'll watch the new shoots break through, splendid in their sheaths.
