燕子的鸣叫仿佛在惋惜离别，
柳树的意态已呈现衰颓。
为国效力终究毫无补益，
返回家乡还遥遥无期。
心中往昔的情味，
正苦苦地与去年此时相较。

The new autumn arrives, especially apt for sorrow.
Swallows' chirps seem to mourn parting;
The willow's spirit already shows decline.
Serving the state, in the end, brings no remedy;
