一片明月运转于混沌之中，
枝叶疏密万古相同。
根须并非生长于下土，
叶子不会在西风中凋落。
每逢圆满之时便充足，
又随着缺损之处而空虚。
它的影子挺立在所有树木之外，
它的香气充满整个月轮之中。
（它）还未种植在红霞漫天的白日里，
（所以）月宫应该是空虚的。
何时能得道羽化飞升，
仔细地去询问那玄妙的仙宫？

A slice of moon turns in primal chaos,
Lush and sparse, eternal and the same.
Its roots are not born in earth below,
Its leaves do not fall in western wind.
Always full when it waxes round,
Again empty where it wanes and gaps.
Its shadow stands beyond all trees,
Its fragrance fills the very wheel's center.
Not yet planted on the crimson sky's sun,
The White Rabbit's palace should be vacant.
