贵豪待此方悦目,晏然寝卧乎其中。

是想让你保持本真、完全素白。
我在香炉峰下建了草堂,
两扇屏风倚靠在东西墙上。
夜晚如同明月照进我的屋子,
清晨如同白云环绕我的床榻。
我的心长久涵养着浩然正气,
也想与你内外相互辉映生光。
你没看见当今的豪门宅第与王宫,
用织成的步障和银屏风,
镶嵌珍珠、螺钿,贴上云母,
各种金银珠宝玲珑剔透。
权贵富豪以此取悦眼目,
安然地寝卧在其中。
素白的屏风啊素白的屏风,
万物各有其适宜的所在,
功用各有其施展的地方。
你现在以木为骨以纸为面,
离开我的草堂想要去哪里呢?
Plain screen, plain screen,
Why are you unadorned and unembellished,
Neither red nor blue?
Is there no seal script of Li Yangbing in this age,
Or the brush traces of Zhang Xu,
The flowers and birds of Bian Luan,
The pines and rocks of Zhang Zao?
I forbid adding a single dot or stroke upon you,
Wishing you to preserve purity and remain entirely white.
I have built a thatched hall below Incense Burner Peak,
Two screens lean against the east and west walls.
At night, like bright moonlight entering my room,
At dawn, like white clouds surrounding my bed.
My heart has long nurtured a vast, righteous energy,
And I wish to shine, inside and out, with you.
Do you not see the grand mansions and royal palaces of today,
With woven curtains and silver screens?
Pearls inlaid, mother-of-pearl attached,
Gold, silver, and the seven treasures, exquisitely crafted.
The noble and wealthy find pleasure in these,
Peacefully sleeping and resting within them.
Plain screen, plain screen,
Each thing has its proper place,
Each use has its fitting object.
You, now with wood as bones and paper as face,
Where would you go if you left my thatched hall?
