Its lingering glow falls on East Lake's far end.
From where does the ox return, crossing the lake again?
Following one another, through the waters they wend.
The recluse leans on the railing, lost in thought profound.

What is the white egret about, what does it seek?
It seems to descend, then rises once more, shy and meek.
