我的朋友难道不多吗？
但我独爱您美好的心地。
身材虽小，胸襟胆识却十分宏大。
面容端正，没有一丝邪气。
磊落不凡，有栋梁之材的姿态。
温润如玉，是瑚琏般的贵重器皿。
当世杰出人物已零落殆尽。
犹如百匹普通马里遇到一匹千里驹。
我心中的倾慕尚未尽情倾诉。
离别之时却已再次来临。
天气寒冷，霜露正繁密。
山路险峻，道路行走不利。
您独自远行是为了什幺呢？
不远百里，以求一试自己的才能。
愿您秉持孝友的资质。
将其发扬为恻隐之心，施行仁政。
请上马吧，不要以路途艰难为虑。
百姓正伫立期盼着您的恩惠。

Life is like a broken tumbleweed, drifting apart.
Yet across ten thousand miles, we meet by chance.
Meetings are often hard, fraught with toil and pain.
But partings come too easily, again and again.
For ten years I've heard your name, your fame so bright.
Though we'd never met, my heart was drunk with delight.
Are my friends not many? Yet none compare to you.
I love your noble heart, so kind and true.
Small in stature, yet with a spirit bold and grand,
Your face bears no trace of evil, pure and bland.
A stalwart pillar, a beam of solid might,
A vessel fine and warm, a ritual vessel's light.
In an age of fading talents, a dwindling race,
A hundred horses yield to one steed's noble pace.
My heart's full admiration not yet poured out,
But the time for parting has come, without a doubt.
The sky is cold, the frost grows thick and white.
The mountain paths are perilous, the journey's plight.
Why do you journey alone, through such a land?
To travel a hundred miles and prove your worth firsthand.
May you hold fast to filial love and friendship's grace,
And let compassion guide your governance in this place.
Mount your steed, do not fear the hardship or the strain.
Our people wait, hoping for your benevolent reign.
In future years, within the court's high hall,
Lift up these virtues; they will never fall.
Eat well, and send me letters, few but strong.
I'll wait, consoled by you, through poverty long.
