我天生就具有忠义的本性，
世俗的习气怎能将它改变。
大道存续，国家便能长久存在，
这个道理我明白，他人却不知晓。
我双眼仰望的是尧帝时代的历法与天象，
我心沉醉的是汉代朝廷的礼仪典章。
前些日子还在私下议论纷纷的那些人，
如今又有谁会谈及这些事情呢？

How could mere custom ever my spirit deform?
Where the Way persists, the state will forever endure;
This I know, though others remain unaware of the norm.
My eyes gaze upon the calendar of sage Yao's reign;
My heart is drunk with the rituals of the Han's domain.
Those who muttered and murmured just the other day—
Who now would dare to speak of such matters this way?
