撰写史书,首先要秉持公正的论断,
辨别是非,便要以圣人的经典为依据。
兄长被诛杀,弟弟用直笔如实记载,
母亲被休弃,妻子(孔伋之妻)出声言说。
恶行告诫人们不要欺君,正如史书记载指鹿为马之事,
善报嘉奖门客,如同记载鸡鸣救主的故事。
至今左右近臣都严格遵守官守职责,
谁还会再拿桐木戏耍,剪裁圭玉(比喻轻率处理重要事务)?
To write history, one must first uphold righteous judgment,
Distinguishing right from wrong by the sages' canon.
A brother's execution recorded by a sibling's honest pen,
A mother's banishment spoken of by a sage's wife.
Evil warns against deceiving the lord, as in the tale of the deer,
Reward praises the guest who crowed like a rooster.
To this day, officials on both sides strictly guard their posts,
Who would again play with the paulownia and cut the jade tablet?
