An old cypress leans by the empty room,
Bringing coolness even in summer's gloom.
Reading books, I ponder each phrase and line,
Practicing calligraphy, radicals I define.
The maid weaves rushes into shoes to wear,
The boy burns atractylodes for fragrant air.
When inspiration comes but verses won't form,
I often consult the moon to keep them warm.
