白发苍苍，我辞别了朝廷庙堂；
投闲置散，来到这濑水弯曲的地方。
因为阅读了贞义女的传记，
深深仰慕那位谪仙的才华。
击打流水（以示清白）的名声至今犹在；
沉入深渊的往事令人悲哀。
清高的魂魄无法招回；
偷安庸俗的风气要努力挽回。
正直的史笔将事迹留给了青史；
（贞义女）投水的矶石被绿苔锁闭。
姑且凭借这一杯酒，
把它浇洒向那浪花堆叠的江中。

White-haired, I left the court and its grand halls behind;
To leisure by the river's bend, my fate confined.
Reading the tale of the chaste maiden, deep I feel;
My reverence for the exiled genius stands real.
Her name, who beat the stream, through ages still remains;
The deed of sinking deep in grief my heart constrains.
Her pure soul cannot be summoned back from the air;
Vulgar customs we must strive to change and repair.
The truthful pen bequeaths its record to green history;
The silent rock is locked in moss, a mystery.
With but a cup of wine I offer my salute;
And pour it out upon the waves, a tribute mute.
