今日你守护着篱笆作为幼苗，

With earnest care, I buy and plant a cypress tree.
I am like a useless, worthless ailanthus,

Today, you guard the hedge as a young sapling,

Human life is but a morning and an evening, fleeting,
Yet this thing will grow till it reaches the clouds, heaven-sent.
