我这一生还有什么值得称道？
登高望远，却欠缺赋诗之才，
心中的感慨都寄托在这篇文章里。
本想向江洲前探问，
但那哀伤的声音已无法听闻。

The creek maples, once lush, now rustle in desolation,
The creek willows, all around, flutter in colorful profusion.
The year's affairs have come to such a state,
What is there of my life worth speaking of?
I climb the heights, yet lack the gift to compose a verse,
But feelings stirred reside within this very text.
I wish to ask the islet ahead,
Yet its mournful tune remains beyond my hearing.
