乘船渡过越溪，心中涌起悲凉；
攀爬玉井的阶梯，感到危险高悬。
怎比得上那平静的池塘，澄澈如镜映照，
更有翠绿的荷叶，相依相偎，姿态倾斜。
不再有骚人墨客那样的愁恨，
而是频频写出如谢灵运般的诗篇。
若能如此安坐于垂钓的小船，
我绝不推辞披上蓑衣戴上斗笠。

My boat sails the Yue Creek, a sorrowful ride;
I climb the Jade Well's ladder, perilous and high.
How better is the calm pond, a mirror's clear tide,
Where green lotus leaves lean, in graceful reply.
No longer the poet's lament, a grievance set aside,
But often the verse of Xie Lingyun, to the mind's eye.
If I could sit in a fishing boat, with such ease abide,
I'd not refuse the straw cloak and hat, under the sky.
