云水关山阻隔，心中的憾恨渺茫无际。
一封书信却能慰藉我百转千回的愁肠。
剑南的亲人故旧，得知他们都平安康健。
陕右的官兵百姓，也是斗志昂扬。
阔别十年，为沦陷的故国感到悲伤。
漂泊流离，一家十口困滞在这异乡。
如何才能结伴同行，趁着春风和暖，
也向着襄阳进发，再南下前往洛阳。

Through clouds and streams, through passes and hills, my sorrow stretches vast and dim.
Yet a single letter can soothe this heart, twisted with grief time and again.
In Jiannan, my kin and old friends, I hear, are safe and sound.
In Shaanxi's west, the troops and people too, with rising spirit are found.
Parted for ten years, I mourn for our lost homeland with pain.
Adrift with my family of ten, in this alien land we remain.
How I wish we could travel together when the spring wind grows warm,
And also head toward Xiangyang, then down to Luoyang's ancient form.
