连鹘鸟飞翔尚且感到辛苦，
人的双脚自然更加难以通行。
在九曲羊肠小道之外，
在三休箭筈关的东边。
向西南眺望天柱山，
姑且以此慰藉旅途的穷困。

Crossing peril, again I meet with snow;
In hardship, every step is fraught with woe.
Even the falcon's flight is bitter still;
Human feet, thus, find the passage hard to go.
Beyond the nine-fold winding sheep-gut path,
East of the three-rest Arrow-Bamboo Pass.
Gazing southwest toward the Heaven Pillar peak,
I seek some solace for my journey's lass.
