三吴之地常有反常的气候，
疟疾与瘟疫每日都使我忧愁。
夏日虽然酷热令人畏惧，
清风却并非如传说中那般和柔。
残春时节尚且要穿着厚重的衣物，
到了暑天便只能深居简出。
饮用冰凉的酒水需要耐得住寒冷，
这种清凉之感，从来都无法预先储留。

The Three Wu regions know many a strange clime,
Malaria and plague daily fill me with dread.
Though the summer sun is fearsome in its prime,
The cooling breeze is not as gentle as it's said.
In late spring, I'm already wrapped in thick attire;
As the hot season comes, I dwell deep within my room.
To drink chilled wine, one must endure the cold's sharp fire,
For such relief, by nature, cannot be stored with gloom.
