Silently, the city gates are closed.
Water birds cry out on the battlement walls,
Flying fireflies alight on halberds' gowns.
Night grows cool, the river and sea feel near,
The sky is vast, the Dipper faint and low.
When will I summon the boatman once more,
To cross the cold northern river and homeward go?
