我把它们收拾起来，带回了这株美丽的丽春花。
它们只是颜色有黄有白，
但这并不损害它们如同婢妾般的品格。
它们争奇斗艳，自知有所不足，
于是长出尖刺来保护自己。
它的上方有一枝寒梅，
在春霜中独自憔悴。

The wild weeds have grown familiar to my eye,
I gather them up, and bring home the lovely one.
They merely differ in hues of yellow and white,
Yet do not harm the status of maid or servant.
Striving for beauty, they know their own insufficiency,
So they put forth thorns to defend themselves.
Above them hangs a branch of the winter plum,
Withered by the spring frost, all alone.
