黄色的菊花如同佳人，
绿色的花萼包裹着金色的细茸。
就着这重阳节的美酒，
来取悦我这憔悴的老翁。

What does the desolate garden hold?
Only fallen leaves and withered clumps.
Holding fragrance, unwilling to unfold,
Save for the hibiscus, alone it blooms.
Yellow chrysanthemums, like beauties fair,
Green calyxes wrap their golden down.
With Double Ninth wine, I'll ease my care,
And cheer this weary, aging man.
