The folk of Shu are full of clever thought, their embroidery wrought with deep toil.
On raw silk over three feet long, they form this Guanyin, Observer of the World's Sounds.
A countenance of mercy and joy, as if emerging from a sandalwood grove.
Lotus flowers follow her steps, jeweled nets adorn her robe.
In her hand, a willow branch, often casting merciful clouds' shade.
She vows to save all sentient beings, able to be sought through sound.
Through this power of wondrous transformation, I am moved to reverence and awe.
Looking up at the Great Freedom, born from a single inch of needle.
All living beings and the Buddhas, in truth, share this same heart.
I wish to learn hearing, reflection, and practice, to escape the floating and sinking in the sea of suffering.
