The year wanes, its end draws near,
Gloomy air begins to congeal and appear.
The sky, once multi-hued, turns to a single shade,
When sleet and snow suddenly come, unafraid.
Where is this moment fine?
Our province since old times has been deemed divine.
Mount Ji presents a carved picture, clear and bright,
Mirror Lake plays with freshness, a pure delight.
Buddha's land spreads a silver-bound domain,
Heaven's patterns reveal the Jade Cord's train.
Strung pearls press on emerald blinds, a sight,
Polished jade piles terrace layers, white.
Kun dew at dawn drips from the trees,
Xun salt by eve fills field borders with ease.
Plum blossoms dense brighten Yuling Ridge,
Butterflies riot on Green Mound, a mad midge.
The dance slows, comes and turns around,
Startled, many descend, then sudden rise from ground.
Hidden cliffs not yet seen by the sun's warm ray,
On eaves, ice forms and hangs without delay.
Where dense, how boundless is the feeling?
When wild, how weak the strength, no concealing.
Snatching freshness, they confuse the wild crane,
Staining white, they keep the fence flies in disdain.
Sun's curtain just opened for reading's sake,
Jiao's hut, arm bent, a restful break.
Sadly neighs the crouching old steed,
Fiercely strikes the descending eagle in its deed.
Though I am in my twilight years,
When joy arrives, I still can conquer fears.
Drunken thoughts grow rich as the day,
Sick eyes delight as dawn holds sway.
Feast tents urge clerks to rest and stay,
Guest mats are blessed with friends today.
Zhou's poems chant of fullness and cheer,
Ye's wine toasts Liu's response, sincere.
Appreciation makes fine hours a pleasure,
High talent should mount with good measure.
The shuang-fur coat, glad it's not here,
Green bamboo slips first steamed, appear.
Rich year, we still celebrate each one,
Sunny spring, each boasts what they have done.
Wine-flushed faces share jade's air,
Ink flows, reveals the scepter's edge, so fair.
Lines wait for Hu to continue the verse,
Boat hopes to visit Dai, a trip diverse.
This long song shames your gift to me,
Precious, moving, I wear it faithfully.
