遥远的边塞在邛崃之外，
偏僻的小城位于越巂以东。
山峦还残留着初夏的积雪，
树林在夕阳下的风中低伏。
地方偏僻，没有官员来拜访，
民风淳朴，很少有诉讼纷争。
睡醒后，我放任士兵去操练，
衙门公务结束，小吏们回家耕种。

Beyond the far frontier, past Qionglai's crest,
East of Yuexi lies this town, remote and small.
The mountains hold the snows of early summer's zest,
The forest bends beneath the sunset wind's soft call.
This secluded place sees no official guest,
The simple folk have little strife at all.
After my nap, the soldiers drill at my behest,
When court adjourns, the clerks return to till the soil in thrall.
