怎能忍受风将它的香气泄露飘飞？
天气寒冷，它的肌肤却无半点瑕疵，
日暮时分，更显庄重严丽的妆饰。
桃李不过是丰腴的婢女，
松竹则与它一同呈现苍老的青翠。
理应被教令位居第一，
独自占尽一年的芬芳美誉。

Unfazed by being buried under snow, it still shines bright,
How can it bear the wind leaking its fragrance into the night?
In bitter cold, no blemish mars its skin so fine,
At dusk, it dons a stern and solemn line.
Peach and plum are but plump maidservants, lush and vain,
Pine and bamboo share its aged, verdant domain.
It should be ranked the first, by all decree,
Alone, it claims the year's finest fragrance, wild and free.
