他们连糠麸都吃不饱。
纷纷死在沟壑之中，
往往被沉重的赋税所困。
只有节制与仁爱，
才称得上是仁德与俭朴。
我在此揭示这些圣人之言，
姑且用来针砭、告诫自己。

Who pities the poor folk in these barren hills,
Who cannot feed themselves on chaff and husks?
They perish in the ditches, one by one,
Crushed by the heavy burden of the tax.
Only through temperance and love, I say,
Can one be truly humane and frugal.
I post these words of sages here to see,
To serve as my own caution and reproach.
