A sparse shadow lingers in the dusk,
Bright and clear by the wild water's edge.
Before the wind, it sends its message first,
Without snow, its spirit is even more keen.
In pure white, the true color is revealed,
While myriad reds follow in its dust.
Since I came to drink beneath these flowers,
My very heart and lungs are filled with spring.
