时世清平，我却感叹自己如陆地沉没般隐沦，
在这楚地的水泽畔，与渔人的吟唱相伴。
我探求索解古代圣贤的言论，
以期阐发天地宇宙的本心。
没有机巧之心，棋局便少落子；
意趣盎然，树木投下浓密的荫凉。
在座的都是知心好友，
我们唱和酬答，直至夜深。

In a time of peace, I sigh at being submerged in obscurity,
By the Chu lakes, I keep company with fishermen's songs.
I delve into the words of sages and worthies,
To uncover the heart of heaven and earth.
With no worldly schemes, I seldom move a chess piece;
Full of rustic charm, the trees cast ample shade.
All seated here are bosom friends,
As we respond in verse deep into the night.
