高高的柳树上，新蝉的鸣声随着吹拂的风悠长。
它们尊贵的伴侣，如同佩戴金貂的汉朝宰相，
鸣声清越，仿佛含着珠露，又似在哀怨齐王的境况。
兰台的近侍们刚刚写成辞赋，
河朔的欢游之宴正举起酒杯酣畅。
我虽有如云的鬓发和翠绿的冠缨，也只是空自期许，
秋天未至，我这楚地客子早已愁肠百转，内心感伤。

In the azure towers and green pavilions, we seek the cool breeze with delight,
The lofty willows' fresh cicada songs stretch long with the wind's flight.
Noble companions, like gold-sable courtiers, honor the Han's prime minister's might,
Pure, as if imbued with pearly dew, they lament the King of Qi's plight.
In the Orchid Terrace, secretaries newly compose their rhapsodies with grace,
North of the Yellow River, joyous revelers raise their cups in the drinking place.
Cloud-like hair and kingfisher tassels are but self-praise, a vain embrace,
Before autumn comes, this Chu wanderer's heart is already full of sorrow's trace.
