灵巧的茶芽呈现出雀舌般的形状，
这是北苑在谷雨前采摘的春茶。
它作为贡品，比所有夏产都更早进献，
它的甘甜也分赐给了身边的近臣。
越窑的茶盏依然借重着它的碧绿茶汤，
蒙顶山的茶岂敢与这新茶争锋？
陆羽的《茶经》虽然留存于世，
可我这般浅薄，终究未能领悟茶的真谛。

A tender bud, like a sparrow's tongue, appears,
In Beiyuan, before the rain, springtime nears.
As tribute, it precedes all other summer yields,
Its sweetness shared with courtiers in the fields.
The Yue ware cup still borrows its verdant hue,
Dare Mengding tea compete with this brew so new?
Lu Yu's Classic of Tea remains on the shelf,
Alas, my humble grasp falls short of the true itself.
