萤火虫的光在寒冷中变得暗淡，
秋雨到了傍晚偏偏下得更多。
贫穷陪伴着老年，倒也安然无恙，
想要留住愁绪，酒又怎肯答应呢？
鸣叫的秋虫与飘落的树叶，
仿佛在为我击节、歌唱。

As the year wanes, how can I be free from feeling?
The poem is done, yet I chant it alone.
The glow of fireflies turns faint in the cold,
The autumn rain falls thick as dusk comes on.
Companion in old age, poverty does no harm;
To keep sorrow at bay, will wine consent?
The chirping insects and the falling leaves,
For me, they clap and sing, their music sent.
