乍一看，会把它唤作桂花林一般。
是谁将金粟般的花蕊、银丝般的雄蕊做成佳肴，
簇拥堆叠在朱红色的花碗中心，如此精巧？
早春时节，它招致了桃李花朵的嫉妒；
岁末严寒，它不受冰雪霜冻的侵侮。
题诗咏赞，终究是比不上苏东坡的老到；
它的叶片厚实有棱角，花色浓郁而深奥。

The camellia tree, a rounded mass, mirrors the emerald hill;
At first glance, one might call it a grove of osmanthus still.
Who has prepared this feast of golden grains and silver threads,
Piled up within a crimson bowl, where the scarlet heart outspreads?
In early spring, it stirs the envy of peach and plum blossoms fair;
In winter's chill, it scorns the frost and snow's invasive air.
To write a verse, I must concede, I lag behind Su Shi's art;
Its leaves are thick with ridges sharp, its flower's hue is deep and smart.
