夜间的空气比水还要清凉，
我高高的书斋权且当作楼台。
自古以来，除了这轮明月，
此外再没有什么能代表秋天。
寒气侵入兰心，使之更显劲健，
月光随着菊花的脚下流淌。
我只忧愁这清朗达不到极致，
但清朗到了极致，却又化作了忧愁。

The night air is cooler than water,
My high study can serve as a tower.
Since ancient times, save for the moon,
There is nothing else that is autumn.
Chill pierces the orchid's heart, firm and keen,
Light flows along the chrysanthemum's feet, serene.
I only fear the clarity is not extreme;
Yet when it reaches the extreme, it turns to gloom.
