大雁的叫声仿佛冻得要死,却叫个不停;
蚂蚁的膝盖冻僵了,走一走又停一停。
先生我苦心吟诗,直到日色已晚;
老仆人来催促我去吃早饭。
小儿子诵读诗书,呼唤他也不来;
书案上,那碗黄齑面早已冷却了。
Ants have no autumn clothes, while wild geese own their down;
In frosty skies, each seeks his food with his own care.
The geese's cries, chilled to death, incessantly resound;
The ants' knees, frozen stiff, now move, now stop in despair.
The master chants his bitter verse till daylight fades;
The old servant comes urging him to eat morning meal.
His young son, chanting texts, ignores the call he made;
On the desk, the yellow-herb noodles have turned cold and congealed.
