卢老如今却没有僧人作邻居。
假使文字真的可以煮来吃,
我们这些人从古至今就不该贫穷。
幸好我的诗肠里没有烟火气;
诗句的眼睛又何愁沾染一点尘埃?
俗人哪里懂得贫穷也有好处;
不必轻易地向他们陈述这个道理。
Duke Yan still had gruel to eat as his food;
Old Lu now lacks a monk neighbor, solitude.
If words could truly be boiled for a meal,
We scholars, since ancient times, would not feel need.
My poetic gut, luckily, has no smoke or fire;
My verse's eye, why worry about a speck of mire?
Common folk know not that poverty can be fine;
No need to easily explain to them this line.
借古喻今,展现对清贫生活的认知与认同。
借颜真卿与卢仝典故,自嘲清贫,体现安贫乐道之志。
