他的弟妹却流落天涯海角。
我也困顿于羁旅漂泊之中，

我不忍心去嗅闻新开的菊花，
只愿吟咏那江边的蘼芜。

Desolate was Du Fu in his old age,
Composing a poem on Double Ninth in Zizhou.
The court and his sovereign visited his dreams;
His siblings were scattered to the ends of the earth.
I too am trapped in this life of wandering,
Sharing his ancient sorrow across the ages.
I cannot bear to smell the fresh chrysanthemums,
But long to chant of riverside thoroughworts.
