大自然隐藏着奇绝的胜景，
浩荡的江流环绕着高峻的山岗。
层层楼阁高达百仞，
下方是云雾与江水交织的故乡。
空灵嵌立的独秀峰，
如雷电挥动锋锐的锋芒。
神妙的工匠施展技艺，
金身佛像庄重地垂着衣裳。
深知天地之间，
此等异事不可寻常度量。
与嘉州和宁川的佛像，
两尊造像遥遥相对眺望。
在怒涛与高山之中，
涌现出伟大的法王。
这般奇观岂是人力所能为，
想要窥测本就渺茫难详。
藤蔓与萝藦缠绕着幽香，
在幽静处散发芬芳。
深夜时分龙族前来行礼，
宝炬的光芒胜过霞光。
我出生在西南边陲，
身为小官游历东方。
目睹这两处奇绝之景，
恍惚间如痴如狂。
自古以来豪放的词章，
不交付给白面书生郎。
何况这无穷无尽的宝藏，
华丽的语句也不足以补偿。
将这首小诗刻在山岩之侧，
愿它与石像一同长久存藏。

Nature hides a wondrous sight,
Where mighty streams embrace the lofty height.
A tower rises, soaring to the sky,
Below, a realm of cloud and water lies.
A solitary peak, hollowed and grand,
Like lightning's edge, its sharp cliffs stand.
Divine craftsmen, with skill profound,
A golden Buddha sits, with robes around.
We know between the earth and heaven's sphere,
Such marvels rare can hardly appear.
With Jia and Ningchuan, in distant view,
Two statues face each other, old and new.
Amidst the raging waves and mountains high,
The great Dharma King emerges from on high.
Such strangeness is not wrought by human hand,
Its mystery transcends our understanding's span.
Where vines and creepers weave their fragrant screen,
And hidden scents in quiet shades are seen.
At dead of night, the dragons pay their grace,
Torches outshine the sunset's glowing trace.
I, born in the southwest, a humble guest,
Travel eastward on official quest.
Beholding these two wonders, rare and bright,
I'm lost in trance, as if struck with delight.
Since ancient times, bold verses, strong and free,
Are not for pale-faced scholars' vanity.
How much more this boundless treasure, vast and deep,
No flowery words its worth can ever keep.
A short verse carved upon the rocky wall,
May with the stone image stand forever tall.
