白话文翻译
王侯的门前并没有熊和老虎，
但前来拜访的人为何犹豫踌躇。
主人害怕客人到来，
其程度甚至超过害怕老虎与熊。
双方都感到情意不安，
互相逢迎反而增添了忧愁与悲苦。
我喜爱田间的老翁，
他的面容有一种无所求的姿态。
不抱怨春日耕作的辛苦，
只将希望寄托在岁末的收成。
粗劣的野菜对他而言如同甜美的羊枣，
豆类和粟米便是早晚的炊食。
西风起，霜后放晴，
清晨寒冷，他呼唤儿子们起身。
大儿子去收拾橡树的果实，
小儿子去拾取松树的枝条。
要做到无所求，应当从自身寻求，
不要依赖他人所为。

At noble gates, no bears or tigers are in sight,
Yet those who approach hesitate, filled with fright.
The host himself fears the coming of his guest,
More than he fears the fiercest beast's unrest.
Both sides feel uneasy, their spirits low,
In forced greetings, worry and sorrow grow.
I admire the old farmer on the land,
Whose face shows a contented, demand-free stand.
He does not complain of spring's toil and strain,
But looks to the year's end with hope again.
Coarse greens are to him like dates, sweet and fine,
With beans and millet for his meals to dine.
The west wind clears the frost, the sky turns bright,
At dawn's chill, he calls his sons with all his might.
The elder gathers acorns from the ground,
The younger picks up pine branches all around.
To have no wants, one must seek from within,
And never on others' efforts begin.
